Terrain Gallery 2026 • Call for Submissions
Ends on
From now, until October 17th, 2025 (submissions deadline), Terrain is accepting exhibit ideas for our permanent gallery space for the 2026 exhibition schedule.
The Terrain Gallery is approximately 1,500 square feet and is located at 628 N. Monroe in a beautiful, turn-of--the-last-century building. Think: Original tin ceilings and beautiful brick walls. Pictures of the gallery as well as gallery renderings can be found here.
We're looking for an array of proposals including two dimensional, sculptural, installation, video, audio (artist must supply equipment), interactive, or experimental artworks.
There will be special consideration for proposals that have built in programming and/or are easily programmable. I.e. community events that can be tied into an exhibit theme, be it a reading, a workshop, or any other kind of community-centered gathering.
Individual artists, artists teams, or proposals for curated themes are all eligible. We put a special emphasis on local artists (i.e. the Inland Northwest region), but will consider proposals from beyond our immediate area.
Selected applicants will work with Terrain's Exhibit Preparator to successfully install the show. Each show has a small installation budget to cover things like artist labels, title walls, and informational rack cards.
Most exhibitions will be one-month in duration following our First Friday schedule, however, on a rare occasion, we may extend a show depending on where it lands in the exhibit cycle. NOTE: Depending on what's submitted, and in an effort to provide as many opportunities as possible, we may pair two different proposals together that seem to complement each other well. The gallery is deceivingly large, and can be difficult for a solo artist to fill.
If work is accepted, artist is responsible for providing all necessary display and viewing equipment, including, but not limited to: tv/display monitor, projector(s), media player, USB drive, mounting hardware, remote controls, batteries.
ATTENTION: Out-of-town artists: Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance (during shipping) of all artworks. All shipments must include a prepaid return shipping label, or a shipping charge account number. Additionally, all artwork must be shipped in a container appropriate for reuse in return shipping.
